Double world record ratified

A technical partnership which lasts!

On September 2009, the 4th, Hydroptère became the speed world record holder on 500 meters and on one nautical mile.
Thanks to this double performance, the flying trimaran becomes the fastest sailing ship of the planet for these two distances, all categories included.

The new absolute sailing speed record is thus established with 51,36 knots on 500 meters. Hydroptère dethrones the kite surfer Alexandre Caizergues, who had beaten this record in October 2008 with an average of 50,57 knots.

During this same session, Hydroptère has exploded the absolute speed record on one nautical mile with an incredible average speed of 48,74 knots.
